Previously on #Kdrama Review Series, we talked about the korean drama “BLOOD” and I also mentioned that I was watching “Bride of the Water god”. In this #kdrama review, we are going to talk about that particular drama which by the way just recently ended: “Bride of the Water god” also called as The Bride of Habaek~!
Honestly, I had high expectations for this drama, because it stars the main male lead of the drama “Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo”, Nam joo Hyuk. Nam Joo Hyuk plays the lead role in Bride of the WAter god as the water god himself “Habaek“.
Narcissistic water god Ha-baek visits earth in order to find a stone powerful enough to help him claim his throne, he seeks out the help of his servant, psychiatrist So-ah. The problem is that she has no belief in the gods and initially mistakes him for suffering from delusions. Things get even stranger when the wind god Bi-ryeom, the water goddess Moora, and a demi-god show up. – Wikipedia
The plot in general, is enough to make you intrigued plus the star-studded cast. You wouldn’t think twice about watching the series. But don’t get your hopes way up because you might end up just like me, disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, the story did have lot of good things going on but what really got to me was that as the story progressed…I got bored(I am literally sad, saying this).
It was probably my own mistake for expecting too much. I think that there was a lot of useless drama in place and a lot of thing were unclear. The progress of the story was rather slow and some parts of it were annoying. The endless push and pull between the leads were somehow irritating. On a personal opinion, I think that the character did not fit well with Nam joo Hyuk.
Let’s get through this, all negative comments aside, there are some good stuff about the series. One of which is this couple in the photo above. Another would be the effects and the styling were awesome too.
That’s all for now~! Currently watching: “Let’s fight Ghost“
